One of America’s largest encyclopedic art museums, the Detroit Institute of Art houses masterpieces in a variety of media representing a variety of historic eras. In this presentation, art historian Jeff Mishur discusses a selection of museum highlights, including works by van Eyck, Artemisia Gentileschi and Vincent van Gogh. Mishur will pay particular attention to Diego Rivera’s “Detroit Industry” murals, some of the most important frescoes in the United States.
